Tachycardia

Tachycardia is a common type of arrhythmia in which heart beats faster even at rest.

Normally heart beats 60 to 100 beats per minute.

Heart rate normally rises in normal conditions such as exercise or physiological response to stesses,but in tachycardia heart beats faster even at rest.

Causes

Tachycardia is caused by impulses that disrupt normal electrical impulses of heart.Various causes of tachycardia are as follows,

  • Damage to heart tissue caused by heart disease
  • Congenital heart abnormalities
  • Anaemia
  • Sudden stress
  • smoking
  • Drinking too much alcohol
  • Drinking too much caffeinated drinks
  • Over reactive thyroid
