Facial nerve damage causes weakness of facial muscles.This makes half of face appear to droop,smile is one-sided, eyes resist closing.
Symptoms
The symptoms of bell’s palsy are as follows;
- Facial weakness
- Facial paralysis
- Facial droop and difficulty making facial expressions
- Drooling
- Headache
- Pain around jaw
- Increase sensitivity to sound on affected side
- Changes in saliva production
- Decrease in ability to taste
