With laryngitis ,vocal cords become inflamed and irritated.Laryngitis may be acute or chronic.

Risk factors
The risk factors for laryngitis include;
- Having a respiratory infection such as bronchitis,
- Overusing your voice
- Exposure to irritating substances such as smoking,chemicals etc.
Complications
In some cases the infection may spread to other parts of respiratory tract.
