Bleeding from inside the nose is called epistaxis.Epistaxis is a sign and not a disease.
Causes of epistaxis:
They may be divided into:

- General
- Idiopathic
A.Local causes
- Trauma.Finger nail trauma,injuries to nose ,intranasal surgery,fractures of middle third of face and base of skull,hard-blowing of nose,violent sneeze
- Infections
- Foreign bodies
- Neoplasm of nose and paranasal sinuses
- Atmospheric changes
- Deviated nasal septum
- Adenoiditis
- Juvenile angiofibrima
- Malignant tumours
B.General causes
- Cardiovascular system
- Disorders of blood and blood Vessels
- Liver disease
- Kidney disease
- Drugs
- Mediastinal compression
- Infections
C.Idiopathic
Many times the causes of epistaxis is not clear.
